At ArtLion, we take your privacy seriously.

This Privacy Policy explains how New Lion Studio Ltd (“New Lion Studio”, “ArtLion”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, processes, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use the ArtLion mobile application, our website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

It also explains how personal information is processed when you use ArtLion’s artificial intelligence-powered features, including AI sticker and image generation.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.

1. WHO WE ARE

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, New Lion Studio Ltd is the controller of personal information processed in connection with ArtLion, except where another party acts as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

2. SCOPE OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through:

the ArtLion mobile application for iOS;
the ArtLion mobile application for Android, when available;
the ArtLion website;
ArtLion accounts;
ArtLion AI generation features;
ArtLion customer support; and
other services that expressly refer to this Privacy Policy.

Third-party services may process information under their own privacy policies where they act as independent controllers.

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The information we collect depends on how you use ArtLion.

3.1 Account Information

When you create or use an ArtLion account, we may process information such as:

your email address;
your account identifier;
authentication information necessary to maintain your account;
your selected sign-in method; and
information provided to us by an authentication provider where you choose to use a third-party sign-in service.

You may currently create or access an ArtLion account using:

Sign in with Apple;
Google Sign-In; or
an email address.

When you use Apple or Google authentication, we receive only the information made available to ArtLion in accordance with your settings and the applicable authentication service.

We do not receive your Apple ID or Google account password.

4. USER CONTENT

When you use ArtLion, you may provide content such as:

photographs;
images;
prompts or generation instructions;
selected styles;
selected emojis or reactions;
generated stickers;
sticker packs;
content submitted for moderation or publication; and
other content you choose to provide through ArtLion.

Some User Content may constitute personal information depending on what it contains.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to provide content to ArtLion, including where your content depicts another person.

5. AI GENERATION AND SOURCE IMAGES

ArtLion provides artificial intelligence-powered features that allow users to create stickers and other generated content from photographs, images, prompts, styles, emojis, and other instructions.

When you submit an image for AI generation, the image is temporarily transmitted to and processed by ArtLion’s backend infrastructure.

The image and the instructions necessary to perform your requested generation are then transmitted to our AI service provider.

ArtLion does not retain your source image in its permanent content storage after the requested AI processing has been completed.

Our backend receives the source image for the purpose of performing the requested generation and removes the temporary source image after the generation process has been completed.

The generated result may be stored in your ArtLion account as described below.

6. OPENAI AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PROCESSING

ArtLion currently uses OpenAI technology to provide certain AI-powered image and sticker generation functionality.

When you request an AI generation, ArtLion may transmit to OpenAI:

the source image necessary for the requested generation; and
the prompt or generation instructions required to process your request.

ArtLion does not intentionally transmit your ArtLion account email address to OpenAI as part of the AI generation request.

OpenAI processes the information submitted through its API in accordance with the applicable contractual, privacy, security, safety, and data-retention terms governing its API services.

OpenAI states that content submitted through its API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in to such data sharing.

OpenAI may retain certain API information for a limited period for purposes such as abuse monitoring, safety, security, legal compliance, and enforcement of applicable policies. The applicable retention period may depend on the API service, endpoint, account configuration, and available data-retention controls.

Accordingly, although ArtLion removes the temporary source image from its own backend after the requested generation has been completed, processing and limited retention by OpenAI may occur in accordance with OpenAI’s applicable policies and ArtLion’s API configuration.

ArtLion may in the future use, replace, or add other artificial intelligence service providers. If doing so materially changes how personal information is processed, we will update this Privacy Policy or otherwise provide notice where required by applicable law.

7. GENERATED STICKERS AND OTHER OUTPUT

Unlike source photographs used for generation, generated stickers and other AI-generated content may be stored by ArtLion so that they remain available in your account.

Generated content generally remains associated with your account until:

you delete the relevant content;
you delete your ArtLion account;
we are required by law to remove it; or
removal is permitted under our Terms of Use or applicable content policies.

AI-generated stickers created through the applicable generation features are private by default unless ArtLion clearly indicates otherwise.

They are not automatically published to the public ArtLion catalogue.

If functionality allowing public submission is made available, content submitted for publication may be processed for moderation, safety, intellectual property, and content-policy purposes.

8. TECHNICAL AND DEVICE INFORMATION

When you access or use ArtLion, certain technical information may be processed automatically as necessary to operate and secure the Services.

This may include, where applicable:

IP address;
device type;
operating system and version;
app version;
language or locale;
timestamps;
network and connection information;
technical request information;
server logs;
authentication events;
security events; and
diagnostic information generated by our own systems.

We may use this information to operate ArtLion, troubleshoot technical problems, maintain security, prevent abuse, and protect our Services and users.

ArtLion does not currently use a third-party analytics SDK or third-party crash-reporting SDK for general in-app analytics or crash reporting.

If this changes in a way that materially affects the processing of personal information, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.

9. PURCHASE AND TRANSACTION INFORMATION

ArtLion allows users to purchase Energy Coins and may provide other paid digital features.

Purchases on iOS are processed through Apple’s App Store and Apple’s In-App Purchase system.

ArtLion is also intended to support distribution through Google Play for Android, where purchases may be processed through Google Play’s applicable payment system.

We do not receive or store your complete payment-card information when purchases are processed by Apple or Google.

We may receive transaction-related information necessary to provide and administer your purchase, such as:

purchase or transaction identifiers;
product identifiers;
purchase status;
Energy Coin entitlement or balance information;
transaction validation information;
refund or restoration status; and
other information necessary to verify and administer purchases.

Apple and Google may independently process payment and transaction information in accordance with their respective privacy policies and terms.

10. CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS

If you contact ArtLion, we may process:

your email address;
your name, if provided;
the contents of your message;
screenshots or attachments you provide;
technical information you choose to provide; and
information relating to your ArtLion account or support request.

We use this information to respond to your request, investigate problems, provide support, and protect our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving the Services.

ArtLion currently uses email primarily for service-related and customer-support communications.

We do not currently use user email addresses for general promotional email marketing.

If we introduce marketing communications in the future, we will provide any notices, choices, and opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law.

11. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may use personal information to:

create, authenticate, and maintain ArtLion accounts;
provide the functionality requested by users;
process AI sticker and image generation requests;
provide and store generated content;
administer Energy Coins and paid features;
verify transactions and entitlements;
provide customer support;
send important service-related communications;
maintain the security and integrity of ArtLion;
detect and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and misuse;
moderate content and enforce our Terms and policies;
diagnose and resolve technical problems;
maintain and improve the reliability and functionality of our Services;
comply with legal and regulatory obligations;
establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and
protect the rights, safety, and property of ArtLion, our users, and others.

We do not sell personal information to data brokers.

ArtLion does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs to serve personalized advertisements within the App.

12. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING

Where the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or similar laws require a lawful basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following bases depending on the circumstances.

Performance of a Contract

We process information where it is necessary to provide the Services you request, including to:

create and maintain your account;
authenticate you;
perform requested AI generations;
store and provide your generated stickers;
administer Energy Coins;
provide paid functionality; and
provide requested customer support.

Legitimate Interests

We may process information where necessary for our legitimate interests or those of another party, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

These interests may include:

securing ArtLion;
preventing fraud and abuse;
enforcing our Terms and policies;
diagnosing technical problems;
protecting our systems and users;
maintaining and improving service reliability; and
establishing or defending legal claims.

Legal Obligation

We may process or retain information where necessary to comply with applicable law, regulatory requirements, lawful government requests, accounting obligations, or legal proceedings.

Consent

Where applicable law requires consent for a particular type of processing, we will request it separately.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent as permitted by applicable law. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

13. AUTOMATED PROCESSING AND CONTENT MODERATION

ArtLion may use automated systems, including systems provided by AI service providers, to review or screen submitted content for safety, abuse, legal compliance, intellectual property concerns, or violations of applicable policies.

As a result, a generation request may be automatically blocked, restricted, or rejected.

Such moderation is designed to determine whether particular content or a generation request may be processed through ArtLion.

ArtLion does not currently use automated processing to make decisions about users that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects of the kind regulated as solely automated decision-making under applicable data protection law.

Where this changes, we will provide additional information where required by law.

14. COOKIES AND WEBSITE TECHNOLOGIES

The ArtLion website may use cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the website, maintain security, remember essential settings, or provide requested functionality.

Where we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar cookies that require consent under applicable law, we will provide appropriate information and consent controls.

Browser settings may also allow you to control or delete cookies.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose personal information only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to the following categories of recipients.

Hosting and Infrastructure Providers

ArtLion currently uses Hostinger infrastructure, with its primary ArtLion server located in Frankfurt, Germany, to host and operate backend services and databases.

Artificial Intelligence Providers

We currently use OpenAI to process source images and generation instructions necessary to provide AI-powered generation features.

Authentication Providers

If you choose third-party authentication, information may be exchanged as necessary with:

Apple; and
Google.

Those providers may separately process information under their own privacy policies.

App Stores and Payment Platforms

Information necessary to administer purchases, transactions, refunds, and entitlements may be exchanged with:

Apple / App Store; and
Google / Google Play, where applicable.

Professional and Technical Service Providers

We may disclose information to professional advisers, contractors, infrastructure providers, security providers, or other processors where reasonably necessary to operate ArtLion or comply with legal obligations.

Such access is limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant service and is subject to appropriate contractual or confidentiality requirements where required by law.

Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:

comply with applicable law;
respond to lawful requests from courts, regulators, or government authorities;
enforce our Terms or policies;
investigate fraud, security incidents, or illegal activity;
protect our rights or property; or
protect the safety and rights of users or others.

Corporate Transactions

If New Lion Studio Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

16. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

ArtLion is operated by New Lion Studio Ltd in the United Kingdom and provides Services to users worldwide.

Our primary ArtLion backend infrastructure is currently hosted in Frankfurt, Germany.

Some service providers, including technology and AI providers, may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area.

Where personal information is transferred internationally and applicable data protection law requires safeguards, we take appropriate measures designed to protect the information.

Depending on the circumstances, these measures may include:

an applicable adequacy regulation or adequacy decision;
approved standard contractual clauses;
the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, where applicable;
contractual data-protection commitments; or
another lawful transfer mechanism permitted under applicable law.

17. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing the Services, maintaining security, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

Source Images

ArtLion does not retain source images in its permanent content storage after the requested AI processing has been completed.

Source images are temporarily processed through the ArtLion backend and removed from our temporary processing environment after completion of the generation process.

The AI service provider may separately retain API information for a limited period under its applicable policies and account configuration.

Generated Content

Generated stickers and other stored AI Output generally remain associated with your account until you delete them or delete your account, unless earlier removal is required or permitted under applicable law or ArtLion policies.

Account Information

Account information is generally maintained while your account remains active.

When you delete your ArtLion account, personal information and generated content associated with your account are removed from ArtLion’s active production database immediately, subject to the exceptions described below.

Transaction and Legal Records

Certain records may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary to comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or regulatory requirements or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

18. BACKUPS AND ACCOUNT DELETION

When you permanently delete your ArtLion account, personal information and generated content associated with your account are removed from ArtLion’s active production database immediately.

Your remaining Energy Coins are handled in accordance with the ArtLion Terms of Paid Services & Energy Coins.

Residual copies of information may temporarily remain in secure backup systems until the relevant backups are overwritten or deleted as part of our standard backup lifecycle.

Information retained solely within backups is not intended to be used for ordinary business purposes.

Backup information may be accessed or restored where reasonably necessary for disaster recovery, security, system integrity, or legal compliance.

Where a backup containing previously deleted information is restored for disaster-recovery purposes, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that previously deleted information is not returned to ordinary active use where it should remain deleted.

Certain limited records may also be retained where required by law or reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

19. DATA SECURITY

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction.

These measures may include access controls, authentication mechanisms, infrastructure security, restricted access to production systems, and other appropriate safeguards.

However, no internet transmission, electronic storage system, or technology can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are also responsible for maintaining the security of your device, email account, Apple or Google account, passwords, and other authentication credentials.

20. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

These may include the right to:

request access to personal information we hold about you;
request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
request deletion of your personal information;
request restriction of certain processing;
object to certain processing;
receive certain personal information in a portable format;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
lodge a complaint with an applicable data protection authority.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exceptions under applicable law.

21. RIGHT TO OBJECT

Where we process your personal information on the basis of our legitimate interests, you may have the right to object to that processing based on your particular circumstances.

You also have the right to object to processing of your personal information for direct marketing purposes where applicable.

ArtLion does not currently send general promotional marketing emails to users.

22. UK AND EEA PRIVACY RIGHTS

If UK data protection law applies to you, you may have rights under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, as amended by applicable legislation.

You may also have the right to make a complaint to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

If EU GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in the EU or EEA country where you live, work, or where you believe an infringement occurred.

23. USERS IN OTHER COUNTRIES AND REGIONS

ArtLion is available to users in multiple countries.

Depending on where you live, local privacy laws may provide additional rights concerning access, deletion, correction, portability, restriction, objection, consent, or other aspects of personal information.

Where applicable privacy law grants rights beyond those described in this Privacy Policy, we will honour those rights to the extent required by law.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit privacy rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

24. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

ArtLion is intended for users aged 13 and older.

We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create an ArtLion account.

Because privacy and digital-consent requirements differ between countries, a user who is 13 or older may still require authorization from a parent or legal guardian for certain processing or use of the Services where applicable law requires it.

If you are under the age at which you can lawfully provide the necessary consent or enter into the relevant agreement in your country, you should use ArtLion only with the involvement or authorization of a parent or legal guardian where required.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in circumstances where we were legally required to obtain parental authorization and did not do so, we will take appropriate steps to address the situation, which may include deleting the information or restricting the account.

25. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

ArtLion may contain functionality that interacts with or links to third-party services.

Examples include authentication providers, App Stores, sharing destinations, messaging applications, and other services selected by the user.

When you leave ArtLion or intentionally send content to another service, that service may process your information under its own terms and privacy policy.

New Lion Studio Ltd is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party services.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of services you choose to use.

ArtLion may allow you to export or share stickers and other content to third-party applications or platforms, such as messaging or social services supported by ArtLion.

ArtLion does not control how a third-party service processes content after you choose to send or publish it through that service.

Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

27. ADVERTISING AND TRACKING

ArtLion does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs to display personalized third-party advertising within the App.

ArtLion also does not currently use third-party advertising attribution SDKs for cross-app tracking.

If our advertising or tracking practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, request permission or provide appropriate privacy controls before engaging in processing that requires them.

28. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

ArtLion does not currently use push notifications.

If push notifications are introduced in the future, we may process device tokens and related technical information necessary to deliver them.

Where required, you will be able to control notification permissions through your device settings.

We will update this Privacy Policy where necessary if the introduction of push notifications materially changes our processing practices.

29. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

changes to ArtLion features;
changes to our AI functionality or AI providers;
changes to service providers;
changes to our data-processing practices;
new products or services;
legal or regulatory developments; or
security or operational requirements.

When we publish a revised Privacy Policy, we will update its Release Date and Effective Date.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes before those changes take effect.

If a new use of personal information materially differs from the purposes described when the information was collected, we will provide any additional notice or obtain any consent required by applicable law before beginning that processing.

30. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER ARTLION TERMS

This Privacy Policy should be read together with the applicable ArtLion legal documents, including:

Those documents govern other aspects of your relationship with ArtLion but do not replace the privacy rights described in this Privacy Policy.
